Tribulation in 2023, 7 Years of Plenty in 2016

The Second Coming of Jesus will take place in 2030

To the mockers who will say, “Where is the promise of His coming?” Peter answered, “...with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” II Peter 3:3-8.

1. Jesus stayed with the woman at the well, a prophetic type of the Church, for two days, predicting a 2,000 year church age.

2. Jesus stayed two days longer across the Jordan river before He traveled to Bethany to raise Lazarus from the dead, also predicting 2,000 years until He would come back to raise the dead. “So when He heard that he was sick, He then stayed two days longer in the place where He was.” John 11:6.

3. Hosea prophesied that Christ would return to revive Israel after two days and raise them up on the third day. Both of these events will happen in the same year. There is only one year when the second millennium after His ascension ends and the third millennium begins: 2030.  “I will go away and return to My place until they acknowledge their guilt and seek My face. ...”He will revive us after two days: He will raise us up on the third day...” Hosea 5:15-6:3.

4. Jesus died, rose from the dead and ascended into heaven in the year 30 AD. See the chart of the dates for Christ’s birth, death and resurrection.

The Tribulation will begin in 2023, 7 Years Before the Lord Returns

5. “But immediately after the tribulation of those days...they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with great power and glory.” Matthew 24:29,30. The Lord makes it clear that He will return immediately after the Tribulation, at the Last Trumpet which is the Seventh Trumpet of Revelation. Matthew 24:20-31, I Corinthians 15:51, Revelation 10:7, Colossians 1:26-27.

6. The Tribulation will last for seven years which will place the beginning of the Tribulation in 2023. Daniel 9:27.

2016: 7 Years of Plenty to Prepare for the Tribulation

Pharaoh’s Dream

During Joseph’s captivity in Egypt, the Pharaoh had a dream of seven fat cows eaten by seven lean cows and seven stalks of grain eaten by seven withered stalks of grain.

“Now it happened at the end of two full years that Pharaoh had a dream, and behold, he was standing by the Nile. And lo, from the Nile there came up seven cows, sleek and fat; and they grazed in the marsh grass. Then behold, seven other cows came up after them from the Nile, ugly and gaunt, and they stood by the other cows on the bank of the Nile. The ugly and gaunt cows ate up the seven sleek and fat cows.” Genesis 41:1-4.

Joseph was summoned to interpret the dream. The interpretation of Pharaoh’s dream told of a seven year famine that was about to come upon the whole world. It also told of a seven year period of abundance and prosperity that would immediately precede the famine. Joseph was given the responsibility to gather grain during this seven year agricultural boom as a savings account against the prophesied seven years of severe famine.

Pharaoh’s dream is a prophetic picture of the 7 year Tribulation

The Tribulation will be marked by a famine such as has never happened before in the history of the world.

“When He broke the third seal, I heard the third living creature saying, ‘Come .’ I looked, and behold, a black horse; and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard something like a voice in the center of the four living creatures saying, ‘A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not damage the oil and the wine.’" Revelation 6:5-6.

Pharaoh’s dream predicted 7 years of plenty to precede the Tribulation

But Pharaoh’s dream has another aspect that is easily overlooked in Last days Biblical prophecy: seven years of plenty. The seven years of good harvest in Pharaoh’s dream allowed Joseph to save and prepare for the seven years of famine.

“During the seven years of plenty the land brought forth abundantly. So he (Joseph) gathered all the food of these seven years which occurred in the land of Egypt and placed the food in the cities.” Genesis 41:47.

If there is to be seven years of abundance just before the Tribulation, it is obviously to be a time of preparation, a period of grace to prepare the saints for the terrible events to come. It will be a seven years that the Lord will give the Church and Israel to prepare, while the unbelieving world will remain oblivious to, “The hour of testing, that hour which is about to come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.” Revelation 3:10.

Seven years of plenty will begin in 2016

Since the Second Coming of Jesus Christ will happen in 2030 and the Tribulation will start 7 years before that, we can expect 7 years of plenty to begin in 2016. The believer who is familiar with the prophetic Scriptures should use these seven years to prepare spiritually and strategically for the events the Bible says will take place during the Tribulation.

Instructions to the Church: “Behold, I have forewarned you.”

We can list specific verses of Scripture to instruct the Elect during the Tribulation:

1. “See to it that no one misleads you.” Many false prophets and teachers will come in His name to mislead many.” Matthew 24:4

2. “They will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name...Many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another...But the one who endures to the end will be saved (physically in the Rapture).” Matthew 24:9,13, 16

3. “When you see the Abomination of Desolation ...standing in the Holy Place...then those in Judea must flee to the mountains.” Jews in Israel should flee. Matthew 24:15-22.

4. The coming of the Son of Man will be like the lightning that flashes in the east and is seen in the west and “...every eye shall see Him,” not just believers. Reject those who teach an invisible or secret return of Christ. Matthew 24: 27, Revelation 1:7.

5. “But keep on the alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are about to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.” Luke 21:36.

6. The letters to the Seven Churches were written to the generation who will be here when “...all these things take place” to prepare them for the Tribulation and Coming of the Lord. Matthew 24:34, Revelation 2-3.

The Abomination of Desolation will happen in the winter of 2026/27

A timeline based on a 2030 return of Christ determines that the Tribulation will start sometime between Pentecost and the Fall feasts in 2023, which means the Abomination of Desolation must take place in the winter of 2026/27, which is 3 ½ years before Christ Returns.

“And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering, then on the wing of abominations will one who makes desolate.” Daniel 9:27

“...and they will tread underfoot the holy city for forty two months.” Revelation 11:2
