Why All Prophetic Dreams, Visions and Words Today are False
The last chapter of the Bible explicitly ended all prophecy
“I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues which are written in this book.” Revelation 22:18.
The Revelation to John is the final book in the Bible. It was written around 90AD. All the other Apostles had died and only the Apostle John was still living. When John penned the last sentence of Revelation, the Apostolic age was over. And with these last words he closed the canon of Holy Scripture; but with verse 22:18, he also soundly ended all prophecy and revelation. As it plainly states, no one is allowed to add to the prophecies of the book of Revelation. All Divinely revealed truth given to the Church concerning prophecy, revelation, doctrine, teaching, knowledge and practice was ended. Anyone who attempts to add to the written Word of God by claiming to have a new prophecy or revelation of any kind is a false prophet, a liar and a heretic. The Bible, understood through the counsel of the Holy Spirit, as it explains and interprets itself, is everything the man of God needs to be complete. Anything added is a false doctrine.
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for
reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may
be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” II Timothy 3:16-
Sola Scriptura -
From the very beginning, satan's favorite strategy for deceiving men and corrupting the truth is to denigrate the Word of God. Either denying what it says, or attempting to add lies to it, have been equally effective.
"The serpent said to the woman, 'You surely will not die!'" Genesis 3:4.
Throughout the Scriptures we see a long history of false prophets and those who attempt
to attack, deny or corrupt the Word or God. During the Great Reformation men like
Martin Luther reset the pillars that Biblical Evangelical doctrine must stand on:
Sola Scriptura, Solo Christo, Sola fide, Sola gratia and Soli Deo gloria (Scripture
alone, Christ alone, faith alone, grace alone, glory to God alone). Every major heresy
and false teaching that has taken root in the Church can be traced back to some type
of denigration of the written Word. Whether adding to the Bible with false scripture,
false teachings, false prophecy, false authority or attempting to filter it through
some contrived, man-
Jesus defined false religion as adding to the Word of God
"And by this you invalidated the word of God for the sake of your tradition. You
hypocrites, rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you: 'This people honors Me with their
lips, But their heart is far from me. But in vain do they worship me, teaching as
doctrines the precepts of men. '" Matthew 15:6-
This is the definition of false religion according to Jesus Himself. By the time
the Lord appeared the first time, Judaism had become virtually a false religion.
So much was added to it by rabbinical teachings, traditions and the so-
"You serpents, you brood of vipers, how will you escape the sentence of hell?" Matthew 23:33.
This harsh condemnation was reserved for those who subverted the written Word by adding their extra Biblical teachings, practices and traditions. It shows the vital importance that Jesus Himself puts on keeping the Word of God unaltered, unfiltered and exclusive.
"Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly
are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits." Matthew 7:15-
"But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies." II Peter 2:1.
Added prophecy = false doctrine

Added tradition = false doctrine
Added authority = false doctrine
Added scripture = false doctrine
Added knowledge = false doctrine
Added theological filter = false doctrine

Deception, confusion and unbiblical heresies from modern day “prophets”
If new prophecies, visions and dreams were true today, it means that any Christian who does not heed them is rejecting the words of God. This elevates these false prophecies as equal to Scripture and lets modern day false prophets claim special authority. This inevitably leads to subverting the written Word and introducing destructive heresies; resulting in believers being deceived, confused and lead astray into unbiblical teachings and practices.

This was an actual quote from popular TV preacher J.R Church. If any believer is
not disturbed by this statement, they don’t realize what he is really saying here.
And yet most Dispensationalists would probably agree with him. In other words, Mr.
Church was saying that unless you are familiar with John Nelson Darby’s Dispensational
theology, you cannot understand Biblical prophecy. So everything you read in the
Bible must be filtered through a 19th century heretic and cult founder’s fault-
Defending Sola Scriptura
To summarize Sola Scriptura:
1. The written Word of God is the exclusive source of Divine truth, revelation, prophecy, practice, knowledge and authority for the Church.
2. All extra Biblical teaching, revelation, prophecy, visions, dreams, word, practice, tradition, scripture, knowledge, or authority claimed to be from God is a subversion, denigration, contradiction, denial and attack against the written Word of God.
3. No extra Biblical writing, teaching, or theology should ever be used as a filter through which the Bible must be understood and applied.
4. No one has to accept Dispensationalism or any other system of theology to accurately understand the Bible and Last Days prophecy.
5. The Bible means what it says.
6. If it's not in the Bible, you don't have to believe it. No extra Biblical writing, teaching or teacher is vital, indispensable or authoritative.

9. No prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation. Scripture must be interpreted by Scripture through the counsel of the Holy Spirit.
10. You have the right to take the Scriptures in their most literal sense. No extra Biblical authority can demand you accept a symbolic, allegorical, spiritualized, replacement or preterist interpretation.
There is a great deal of warning in the New Testament against false teachers and false prophets. This was a common problem in the early Church as it is today. There are few things that are more destructive to the Body of Christ than false teachers, false prophets, and false doctrine within the Church. What comes against the Church from the outside has never been able to destroy it, but false teaching from within has had a devastating effect. The thousand year period of apostasy between 500 AD and 1500 AD was due primarily to false teaching and false authority that had taken over the Catholic Church. It almost completely destroyed the preaching of the Gospel and Biblical Christianity.
Biblical warnings against false teachings and false prophets
"Many false prophets will arise and lead many astray.” Matthew 24:11.
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” I John 4:1.
“But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons.” I Timothy 4:1.
“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.” II Timothy 4:3.
“If anyone advocates a different doctrine and does not agree with sound words, those
of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with the doctrine conforming to godliness, he is conceited
and understands nothing; but he has a morbid interest in controversial questions
and disputes about words.” I Timothy 6:3-
“I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of
Christ, for a different gospel; which is really not another; only there are some
who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ.” Galatians 1:6-

The office of Apostle ended with the Apostolic Age
Some false teachers today also claim to be Apostles, giving themselves special authority in the Church; another unbiblical heresy which deceives believers and denigrates the authority of the written Word.
“‘Let another man take his office.’ ‘...one of these must become a witness with us
of His resurrection.’ ...and the lot fell to Matthias; and he was added to the eleven
apostles.” Acts 1:20-
Because the requirement to be an Apostle was to be a witness to Christ’s resurrection, it is not possible for anyone to be an Apostle today. Besides Matthias who took the vacant office of Judas as a fulfillment of a specific prophecy about Judas, there are no other examples in the Bible of anyone succeeding as an Apostle. Even James the brother of John, who was the first Apostle to be martyred, was never replaced by anyone else.
Apostle Paul: Gifts of prophecy will be done away with
The Apostolic age was a unique time of revelation when the New Testament Scriptures were written and prophetic utterances were given to the Twelve Apostles as well as some other believers. With the end of the Apostolic Age and the completion of the last book of the Bible, the written Word was perfectly complete and so all prophecy ceased.
“Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away...but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away.” I Corinthians 13:8,10.
